Udon Thani Rajabhat University was founded in 1923 as the Teaching Training School in Agriculture Udon Thani. It was only renamed Udon Thani Rajabhat University in 2004.
The university is located in Udon Thani province, northeast Thailand.
The university has three campuses: the main campus located in the city, Sam Phrao campus situated in the outskirts of Udon Thani city, and Bueng Kan campus in Bueng Kan province, 200 km north-east of the main campus.
Academically, the university is organised into six faculties: faculty of education, faculty of humanities and social sciences, faculty of management, faculty of science, faculty of technology, and the faculty of nursing. Each faculty offers a range of undergraduate courses.
The Office of General Education also offers a BA in interdisciplinary learning for development, whilst the Office of Academic Promotion and Registration offers a BSc in real estate management and building technology.
There are a number of graduate programmes available for students to study such as the master of education and the master of fine and applied arts. The university also offers a graduate diploma in teaching and a diploma in Thai language.
