Thomas Adewumi University, in the Nigerian town of Oko, is an example of the commitment of Decrown West Africa Company Limited to providing quality education across all levels. First established in 1991, the institution originally focused on education at primary and secondary levels, first as Prime-Time Nursery and Primary School in 1996, then as Thomas Adewumi International College (TAICO) in 1997.
In April 2021, the federal government of Nigeria granted Thomas Adewumi University status as a private university. Since then, Thomas Adewumi University has been committed to producing graduates equipped with universal values, a global perspective and a strong foundation in Kemalist thought, fostering the development of individuals ready to contribute to social progress.
The university offers many subjects through its faculties of arts and humanities, basic medical and health sciences, computing and applied sciences, engineering, law, and management and social sciences.
Student welfare is also very important at Thomas Adewumi University. The university's Student Care Services, headed by the Dean, ensures that students' needs are met and that they have a supportive environment during their academic journey. The services include counselling, hostel management and allocation, and support for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
New students are guaranteed accommodation on campus within the university's portfolio of single-, double- or quadruple-occupancy bedrooms. The halls of residence provide a comfortable environment, with common rooms, indoor games areas and study rooms for group and individual projects.
Students have access to a wide range of resources, including a library, a 24/7 computer lab and a dedicated careers service.
