Your new working environment:

At the Institute for Civil Law (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gabriel Kogler) a position as a university assistent (prae doc) is to be filled as soon as possible. The scope of employment is 30 hours/week.

The employment duration is 3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a declaration of non-extension. With appropriate work progress, an extension to a total maximum of 4 years is possible.

Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:


	You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of Civil Law.
	We expect you to finalize your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months.
	You work on your dissertation and its completion.
	You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
	You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

About the role

2. JOB PURPOSE / ROLE:?
The candidate is expected to teach undergraduates and graduate courses in geography and planning in the academic Programs at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD). geography and planning courses are delivered both in French (Bachelor level) and English (Master level) and teaching duties include teaching lectures, tutorials and directing student research and projects. Full Professor, Assistant and Associate professor, have a service load of 192 hours (contact hours) per academic year and need to engage each semester in related duties, including grading, invigilation, and office hours. Teaching workload reduction could be authorized for research or administrative purposes.?

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join a highly collaborative project as part of the Nucleic Acid Therapy Accelerator Consortium to develop machine and deep learning approaches and maintain heterogenous data supporting drug discovery and development.

?

The candidate should have strong background in deep learning and/or biomedical image analysis algorithm development and interest to employ such techniques to advanced applications in biology, digital pathology and medicine development. The specific research project requires expertise in modern methods for image segmentation and classification of large imaging data using convolutional neural networks. Experience in web-based application development is desirable.

This post may appeal to candidates with background in computer science or engineering interested in now developing skills and experience in biomedical research. Candidates with good experience in machine learning, bioinformatics, database management, and visualisation techniques will also be considered. The successful candidate will be joining a new group and thus this position provides an opportunity for the right candidate to be part of an exciting new venture.
