Founded in 1977, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (formerly known as Lagos State Polytechnic) is a government-owned tertiary institution located in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Originally established as Lagos State College of Science and Technology, the institution commenced classes in January 1978 at a temporary site with five departments: accountancy, business administration, banking and finance, marketing, and insurance.
The institution was renamed Lagos State Polytechnic in 1986 and gained university status in 2022 following the signing of a new bill by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The university is now organised across five colleges. Students can choose from programmes in agriculture, engineering, environmental design and technology, basic sciences, and applied social sciences.
