Qualifications


	A PhD degree in Computer Science, Traffic Engineering or related disciplines;?
	A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research and scholarship;
	Demonstrable competence in communication; and
	English is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.


The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. The Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Full Professor of Portuguese Literature. The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation. The faculty Bursar of the MU Faculty of Medicine announces a?selection procedure for the position of Postdoc in?The Biology of Primary Cilia Signaling?at the Department of Biology, MED MUNI

Description of the lab

Primary cilia are organelles with important functions in cellular signaling, morphogenesis and homeostasis. Mutations in genes that regulate cilia architecture or function result in disorders called ciliopathies. The ciliopathies comprise developmental syndromes, and also postnatal homeostatic disorders including cancer.?In the research lab of Dr. Michaela Bosakova?we focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms by which cilia are formed and used by protein kinases and signaling pathways (published work). Our ultimate goal is to comprehend the pathogenesis of selected ciliopathies, and contribute to development of their therapies.

The project and responsibilities

The selected applicant will lead a?project that aims to target ciliary signaling in glioblastoma, which is one of the deadliest cancers with very limited treatment options. The approaches used in the project will comprise mainly establishment of primary cultures, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing, cell and tissue imaging, and cell signaling experiments. Beyond the research tools and technology available in the lab and the hosting department, they will have access to the state-of-the-art instrumentation and services at the MUNI University campus core facilities. They will also participate in projects of other group members, including PhD and master students.

Qualifications:


	PhD degree in the field of cell biology or similar
	Significant, published experience with primary cilia research and/or cell signaling
	Hands-on experience with CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing is a?great advantage
	Ability to work independently allied with a?strong team spirit, scientific creativity, and motivation
	Good communication in English

About the Position

This rare opportunity will be offered to an outstanding leader and researcher for an initial three-year appointment with the intention of extension if agreed performance outcomes are met. Established in 2010, the Institute for Evidence-Based Healthcare (IEBH) is currently Bond University's only whole-of-University interdisciplinary research Institute. The Institute engages with a globally connected team of highly skilled, interdisciplinary researchers and educators. We aim to guide individuals and groups to consider ways to provide sustainable, evidence-based healthcare and how research can better inform policy and practice. The Institute aims to improve healthcare by better understanding the causes of, and solutions to, gaps between research evidence and its application in practice and policy. The Institute also aims to enhance Bond's reputation as Australia's leading private, independent, not-for-profit University.

The Evidence-Based Practice Unit (EBPU) is a team of experienced research professionals located at the Gold Coast University Hospital. We provide GCHHS staff with support in using, conducting, and translating high-quality research and activities into practice. This is a joint initiative between Bond University and the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Services (GCHHS) located on-site in Southport. The Unit aims to improve the efficiency and quality of care patients receive and deliver translation research that also uplifts clinician-researcher and EMCR capacity at the GCHHS.

About the person

We are seeking an energetic and proactive leader, ideally a clinician-researcher, who brings strategic vision, academic rigor, and proven experience in clinical environments and multidisciplinary team collaboration. This role is based at Bond University's Robina campus and the Evidence-Based Practice Unit at Gold Coast Hospital, Southport.

In this senior academic leadership position, you will contribute to the leadership, management and strategic direction of the Institute for Evidence-based Healthcare and lead a program of clinical research that aligns with the major Institute themes.

Reporting to the Director of the Institute, you will provide direction for the Evidence-Based Practice Unit based at GCHHS. The portfolio at GCHHS includes uplifting research capability and delivery in implementation science, research and teaching, contracting and support services such as statistics and philanthropy. Additionally, you will be instrumental in building research and clinical capacity among the hospitals and Institute staff.
