The National Institute of Technology (ITENAS Bandung) at Bandung was founded in 1972 as the National Academy of Technology, and consisted of four departments: architecture, civil engineering, electrical engineering and engineering. In 1984, the academy became National Institute of Technology (ITENAS Bandung) .
There are three main faculties at the institute: industrial technology, civil engineering and planning, and art and design. The faculty of industrial technology covers technological innovations from early industrialisation to modern technology. Based on essential theories learned throughout the course, students design and create innovations that work towards advancing technological research. Undergraduate programmes in this faculty include electrical, mechanical and industrial engineering, with master¡¯s degrees offered in mechanical and industrial engineering.
The faculty of engineering and planning has five undergraduate programmes, which include: architecture, civil, geodetics, environmental engineering, and urban and regional planning. There¡¯s also one master¡¯s programme in civil engineering on offer.
Design is a process to solve problems and a strategy to find solutions, which are the two core focuses of the faculty of art and design. This faculty offers undergraduate programmes in interior design, product design, visual communication design and architecture.
On campus there¡¯s a library, online learning studio for recording and editing, a cafeteria, mosque, bookstore and more. Students have access to a range of outdoor sporting facilities which include a tennis court, futsal and basketball court, climbing wall and go-kart track.
