Role Description

About the Role

As a Firefighter at Cranfield Airport you will carry out rescue and fire-fighting duties, responding to reported incidents at Cranfield Airport and within the wider university campus. This will involve taking appropriate action in line with procedures to preserve life and minimise damage to property whilst also administering medical care if required.

In addition you will work on an agreed rota to support a wider range of essential operational functions to ensure ongoing efficiency and continuous improvement of the business. These include but are not limited to Wildlife Management, Aerodrome Inspection Duties and Operations.

About You

Cranfield Airport is focused on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction and therefore it is essential that you can demonstrate the required level of professionalism and a commitment to client care. In addition you will need show that you can adopt a flexible attitude to work, possess well-developed communication skills and that you have the ability to work effectively within a closely knit team environment.

As a minimum to meet the requirements of this role you must have a full valid UK driving licence, be medically fit and able to meet the required fitness standards for Firefighters and be willing to undertake regular theoretical and practical training. Previous aviation fire-fighting experience (Civil Aviation Authority - CAA approved certification) would be an advantage as would a LGV2 Licence.

Holding a Firefighter rank would be beneficial and we encourage applications and discussions from these individuals.

Cranfield Airport is a commercial and GA airport situated in Class G airspace situated between Bedford and the City of Milton Keynes with a 1799m runway which can accommodate business jets such as the Falcon, Gulfstream and Boeing Business Jet, which currently do not require runway slots.

About School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment

Our school offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Industrial Design, Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering, integrating advanced academic knowledge with practical training. About the role

We are seeking a forward-thinking, dynamic, and innovative scholar to join our team as a Associate Professor in Industrial Design. This pivotal role involves leading all Industrial Design programs, fostering research and teaching connections with Architecture, and promoting multi-disciplinary collaboration across the school, including Construction Management, Engineering, and Urban Transformation. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chair of Architecture and Design and the DAP of Architecture and Industrial Design to enhance the program’s positioning, attract key staff and students, and drive the growth of Industrial Design research. Additionally, this role will play a crucial part in establishing an interdisciplinary Design research program that leverages the strategic potential of Western Sydney and aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Design or a related field, coupled with outstanding professional experience and highly regarded research in industrial and/or multi-disciplinary design fields. They will be an accomplished Industrial Designer with significant global achievements and a proven track record of providing professional leadership and advice. Experience in leading curriculum accreditation with relevant professional bodies is essential. The candidate will demonstrate leadership and innovation in contemporary curriculum design, development, delivery, and assessment, with evidence of teaching quality and successful supervision of Masters and PhD candidates. About You

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work with research teams and partnerships in the School and Research Institutes. You will be required to undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy. In this position you will carry out independent and/or team research which has a significant impact in the area of your specialisation and be acknowledged at a national level as being influential in expanding the knowledge of your relevant discipline.

As the Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you are expected to plan, develop and engage in high quality research projects that are aligned with the University's research focus areas. You will embed your research expertise into the life of the School through the development of high-quality, productivity-driven research networks across RMIT and with local and national, internal and external partners. You will be expected to engage in high quality research projects, to achieve success in attracting research funding and to produce high quality outputs.

To be successful in this position, you will meet the following Key Selection Criteria:


	Demonstrated capability involving lipid nanoparticles formulation and physicochemical characterisation techniques (AFM, DLS, cryo-TEM etc.).
	Evidence of experience in performing mammalian cell culture and study cell-nanoparticle interactions using various techniques (confocal imaging, flow cytometry, TEM, etc.).
	Experience in studying cell-nanoparticle interactions under dynamic flow conditions is preferred but not required.
	Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs
	Demonstrate experience in paper writing. Ability to independently form high quality paper drafts is essential.
	Demonstrate strong communication skills.
	Possess the ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to work with colleagues confidently and effectively.
	Demonstrate ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.
	Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.
