The OfS is the statutory regulator for higher education in England. Our aim is to ensure that every student, whatever their background, has a fulfilling experience of higher education that enriches their lives and careers. We do so by regulating the higher education providers on our register to make sure they are delivering high quality courses and positive outcomes for their students; where they are not, we take action. ?

The higher education sector in England is complex and diverse and the OfS’s approach to regulation recognises this. Our new strategy signals a shift from an organisation in a start-up phase to an established regulator that understands its regulatory tools and how best to use them to shape incentives across the sector we regulate. We are looking to fill a vital ‘Head of’ role within our Regulation directorate as part of our senior team.

These roles lead our frontline regulation with a broad remit. They have responsibility for a significant portfolio of work across equality, diversity and inclusion, skills and pathways, funding, student information and engagement and conditions of registration.?

The role we are recruiting to now has a particular focus on:?


	Pathways and skills policy, including the implementation of the LLE and managing and distributing OfS recurrent and capital funding to higher education providers ?

You will understand the role and value of a regulator and, regardless of your professional background, show an understanding of how effective regulation works in practice. How you can Make a Difference:

The College of Science and Engineering is seeking an Associate Lecturer to join its talented academic staff in delivering undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching in the applicant’s area of expertise. 	Undertake activities that promote the development of productive partnerships to provide opportunities for students and promote graduate employability.

About You

As an early career Teaching Specialist (Academic), you will demonstrate a student-centred approach and will be passionate about achieving optimum learning outcomes for students. Independently, and in collaboration with your team, you will actively work towards growing one of our teaching disciplines.

You will also demonstrate:


	Satisfactory completion of 4 years tertiary study or equivalent qualifications.

Your personal sphere of influence:

The Chair of Technology and Innovation Management conducts research covering the emergence, development, and commercialization of new ideas and inventions. We try to better understand how various incentive mechanisms, different forms of organizing as well as characteristics of individuals and organizations and their environment influence their innovation activities. The topics of courses offered are aligned with these research topics and are mostly targeting master students.
You will have the opportunity to develop your research topics and to collaborate on existing projects. In terms of methodology, our work is predominantly quantitative, using methods of applied econometrics and increasingly also machine learning. Large data sets typically form the basis of our analyses. You will work with colleagues who are internationally well-connected and regularly publish in top international journals.
