Bellarmine University is a Catholic university in Kentucky, United States and was opened in 1950 by Archbishop John A. Floersh of the Archdiocese of Louisville.

Now, the university is organised into five colleges and schools and offers degrees in more than 50 subjects in the arts and sciences, business, communication, education, nursing and health sciences.

Study abroad options are on offer at Bellarmine across over 50 countries and six continents. It offers students the chance to study at over 150 partner universities worldwide. Its study abroad is not only available for foreign language students, but for other academic areas as well.

There are a large number of extracurricular activities on offer to students, which include: athletics, honour societies, clubs and student organisations. 

The university is a member of NCAA Division I and competes in the ASUN Conference. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, sprint football, swimming, tennis, track and field and wrestling, while women’s sports include basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, softball, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field and volleyball.

The Owsley B. Frazier Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium, which is home to Bellarmine's soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, and track and field teams. 

The campus library was completed in the fall of 1996, and cost $6.5 million in total. The library supports 150,000 volumes and includes a print and electronic-based reference centre, media services, periodicals, general collections, and a special-collections centre.

Notable alumni include John Young Brown III, former Secretary of State of Kentucky, Dapo Fagbenle, London-based music video director and entertainer, and Joseph P. Clayton, former CEO and chairman of Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc.
