IT IS PLEASANT to be able to acknowledge Ivor Gaber's generous praise of New Media, New Policies as "comprehensive and timely" (THES, March 28). I am very sorry that his copy of our book had pages 152-6, 171, 173, 179 missing. For nothing else can explain his judgement that we, the authors, are silent on the important question of "new mechanism for appointing regulators". But readers can be assured that the absence of these pages from Professor Gaber's copy is unprecedented - all other copies known to me are fully endowed. I will ensure Professor Gaber has the missing material.
