(Photograph) - Eleven-year-old electronics wizard, Jamie Baxter Martin, the youngest-ever student at Plymouth University, has celebrated his third success in a row after being awarded a grade B GCSE pass in electronics.

Jamie, who built two radios by the age of four, has attended a first-year foundation course in electronics engineering on alternate Friday afternoons, while studying for his exam at home. In June he sat and passed his City and Guilds part three in electronics servicing, a three-hour exam plus a practical, for which he studied in the evenings at Saltash adult education centre. Jamie started his extra-curricular activities there aged nine, passing his City and Guilds part two last year.

This summer Jamie also passed his BTEC II in electronics at Plymouth College of Further Education. Jamie will be returning to the university in September where it is hoped he will ultimately enrol for an electronics degree.
