Vocational advert fits The Bill

March 17, 1995

An Employment Department-funded Pounds 4 million vocational training publicity campaign was launched yesterday when a one-minute television advert appeared during a commercial break in The Bill.

The aim is to raise awareness of the benefits of vocational training among prospective students, parents, and employers in small and medium-sized companies. Students are being advised that "a commitment to training is a commitment to helping themselves" while employers are being told of "the links with business success of having a well qualified staff".

The campaign, which will continue for one year, will stress the modern apprenticeship scheme, which will be formally launched later this year.

Get Qualified is being run by advertising consultants GGT. It will run alongside the Pounds 9 million promotion of NVQs being co-ordinated by the National Council For Vocational Qualifications.
