Corpus Christi College: Bangs, visions and shaking washstands thought to be the ghost of Henry Butts, college master who hanged himself in 1632, or the lover of a master's daughter who suffocated in a cupboard in the 17th century.
St John's College: Haunted library clock, emitting a smell. A dose of frankincense and myrrh cured the haunting. The clock no longer works. Christ's College: Former college fellow Christopher Round, alleged murderer of rival scholar, seen wandering in swallow-tailed coat.
Sidney Sussex College: Sightings in late 1960s of disembodied eyes and ear-less heads. Either William Prynne, a Puritan whose ears were cut off, or former student Oliver Cromwell, whose head was buried in the college's ante-chapel in 1960.
