The University of Salford has confirmed that Salman Abedi, the suspect in the Manchester bombing, was a student at the institution.

Abedi, 22, was registered on the second year of a business course but had not attended classes since the autumn term, 成人VR视频 understands.

In a statement, Salford said that it was “assisting Greater Manchester police with their enquiries”.

Abedi is suspected of being responsible for the explosion at the end of a concert by US pop star Ariana Grande at the Manchester Arena on 22 May which left 22 people dead and 59 others injured.

On the evening of 23 May, three buildings on Salford’s campus were evacuated “as a precautionary measure” in an “unrelated” incident, the university said.

Sam Grogan, Salford’s pro-vice chancellor for student experience, that the institution had now returned to “business as usual”.

“All at the University of Salford are shocked and saddened by the events of last night,” Dr Grogan said. “Our thoughts are with all those involved, their families and their friends.

“We have provided, and continue to provide, support to all students and staff who have been affected.”
