Georgetown University Medical Center's Neurology department is seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical Research Fellow to join our Movement Disorders Division. This fellowship is designed to provide advanced training in clinical and translational research, focusing on the understanding and treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and other related conditions. The successful candidate will work under the mentorship of leading experts in the field, contributing to innovative research projects aimed at improving patient care and advancing scientific knowledge in movement disorders. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:Help conduct and implement several clinical trials.Conduct and coordinate clinical and translational research projects in the field of movement disorders.Design and implement research protocols, including clinical trials and observational studies.Perform data collection, analysis, and interpretation of results.Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neurologists and other healthcare professionals, to develop comprehensive research strategies.Assist with grant writing and the preparation of research proposals.Engage in patient evaluations and contribute to clinical assessments under supervision.Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in movement disorders research and treatments. Work InteractionsAs an employee of Georgetown University, the Clinical Research Fellow directly supports the University's mission of Cura Personalis. Clinical Trials offer a unique opportunity for a patient to receive personalized and comprehensive care in a manner that they may not experience otherwise as a patient. The Clinical Research fellow will enable patients with Movement Disorders to have more opportunities to participate in Clinical Trials with a focus on increasing the diversity of participants that participate in clinical trials. In the overall scheme of the Georgetown University Medical Center, this position indirectly and directly supports multiple departments. From a fiscal perspective, the indirect/overhead costs generated by clinical trials support the GUMC operating costs. Daily, the Clinical Research Fellow will report to the Director of Clinical Trials and two Principal Investigators. Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in Fashion Interaction Design (Ref. 241031007)

The appointee will be required to

(a)? teach and contribute curriculum development at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and supervise research students;

(b)? initiate, lead, and participate in research, consultancy, and other scholarly activities leading to publications in refereed journals and/or exhibitions, as well as awards of research grants;

(c)? undertake academic and departmental administrative duties; and

(a)? a PhD degree in Fashion Interaction Design, Digital Fashion, Augmented and/or Virtual Reality Applications, Fashion Imaging Technology, AI-applications of Fashion Design and/or Fashion Business, Metaverse Technology, Programming Applications for Digital Retail Platforms or a related discipline;

(b)? sound knowledge in university teaching and research in fibre sciences, wearable technology, or other related areas in fashion design technology;

Join our team as a Research Fellow to lead impactful research on emergency communication strategies, driving real-world change for wildfire-prone communities through hands-on fieldwork and high-quality, collaborative research.

About You

The Research Fellow will support the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology-funded project focused on emergency communications and evacuation during the 2023 Maui wildfires. This role involves studying the information received by Maui residents and tourists before and during the fires on 8 August 2023, and evaluating how various factors (e.g., psycho-social, environmental, etc.) influenced their evacuation decisions and protective actions. The findings will guide future strategies for wildfire-prone communities worldwide.

Key responsibilities include:


	Recruiting for and conducting semi-structured interviews with residents, tourists, and stakeholders to analyse the range and impact of information available during the wildfire event.
	Developing interview guides, recruitment materials, and submitting RMIT ethics applications.
	Conducting primarily in-person interviews, with some online, performing qualitative data analysis, and reporting results through project reports, journal articles, policy briefs, and presentations.
	The role requires a 2-3-week fieldwork trip to Hawaii in Q1 2025, with the Research Fellow expected to drive in the U.S.


Additionally, the Fellow will develop and engage in high-quality research projects aligned with RMIT's focus areas, build productive research networks within RMIT and with external partners, and produce impactful research outputs.

To be successful in this position, you will need to meet the following Key Selection Criteria:


	Evidence of experience in social science research methods, and in particular qualitative research methods.
	Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.
	Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.
	Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate research results, concepts and knowledge in high quality research outputs and to research stakeholders.
	Mandatory qualifications: PhD or equivalent in relevant field.
