The Oran Graduate School of Economics is situated in Oran, Algeria’s second city, on its north-western coast.
Established in 2010, it was originally the Oran Prepartory School of Economics, Business and Management Sciences, before expanding to take on graduate students as well. Its stated aim is “to train the country’s future elite”.
Education for the school’s 847 undergraduate and master’s students follows the usual Algerian pattern: two years of preparatory education, followed by a “second cycle”: three years of specialisation. The school offers the following specialisms: digital economics; organisational economics; economic intelligence and competitive strategies; economics, finance and markets; economics of energy, environment and sustainable development.
The school’s nine PhD students study in the fields of energy economics, international economics and applied economics.
It publishes a number of journals, including the Algerian Journal of Economics and Management. It also offers, culture, science, sports and entrepreneurship clubs.
