Knowledge University was founded in 2009.
The university is located in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. With a population of more than 1.6 million, Erbil is the most populated city in the region.
The university is organised academically into six colleges: college of engineering, college of science, college of law, college of education, collection of administrative and financial sciences, and the college of pharmacy. Each college is divided into different departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
There are a number of centres within the university including the Research Centre, the English Language Centre and the Continuing Education Centre. The Research Centre plays an important role in promoting research activities within the academic community of the university. It aims to facilitate partnerships and collaborations between researchers both nationally and internationally.
The university is also equipped with several abs including the Drilling and Petroleum Fluid Properties Lab, the Geological Lab and the Soil Testing Lab. Facilities such as these labs enable students to develop their knowledge through practical experience.
