Astana Medical University was founded as a medical institute in 1964 and was given academy status in 1997. It was raised to university level in 2009 and has been controlled by the national Ministry of Health since 2010.
Students can study across faculties of international medicine, dentistry, public health, nursing, preventative care, pharmacy and postgraduate education.
The university has 105 international partner institutionsin a range of countries including in Russia, Uzebekistan, Finland and China.
